HOW TO INSTALL PIPE SHELLS
What designers and installers need to know
PREPARATION
The pipe to be insulated should be mechanically sound and cleaned before applying insulation
OFFER UP AND CUT TO LENGTH
Take a pair of half shells and working from a corner or flange cut to length using a sharp knife or fine toothed saw. 45degree mitre cuts should be aligned with the junction. T pieces can also be easily cut as a V and wedge.
TAPE IN PLACE
Apply tape around both ends and also along any joints.  If the pipe shells are faced the tape must be to the same specification as the facings in order to provide continuity of facing performance for fire and moisture management
